OPI Burlesque Little Teasers and Axxium Show Stoppers Set

This holiday season has been extremely busy for me. Though I really wanted to see the movie Burlesque, I got totally booked by everything here and there and just couldn’t find a chance to watch it. I did snatch some nail polishes inspired by the movie from ULTA the other day. So today I’ll just do a quick swatch and review about these polishes along with the swatch of the Show Stoppers Gel Lacquer set I got a while ago.

Let’s take a look at the nail polishes first.

There’re a total of 12 shades in the OPI Burlesque Collection, 6 glitters and 6 non-glitters. The Little Teasers mini nail lacquers set features 4 non-glitter polishes which is indeed a teaser.

It’s missing the Let me entertain you and Tease-y does it. I didn’t want to spend $50 bucks on the whole set, so $12.5 for 4 is a bargain for me. Besides I don’t think I can ever finish these anyway.

There’s one thing I really hate about this mini set. The box is too hard to open, just like the Armani lipsticks. Every time I run the risk of ruining the package. Why can’t you make it easier.

So the polishes! Rising star, Take the stage, The show must go on! and Ali’s big break.

I swatched them on a nail wheel. The first photo was taken under natural lighting with 2 coats of polish.

Indoor flash

Under direct sunlight. Out of the 4 shades, I’m loving The show must go on! and Ali’s big break.

Though with the minis, it’s cheaper to have more shades. The quality can’t compare to the real deal. For some reason I feel the mini lacquers are hard to apply especially the halloween Tatto Ta-Boo set. The texture is not there. The Little Teasers set is a lot better but I still miss the regular OPI ProWide brush. See how tiny the brush is for this bottle?

OPI also launched six limited edition soak-off gel lacquers for the collection. It’s called Show Stoppers set which I got about two months ago for my birthday. See more pictures here.

All 6 shades are from the glitter part of the family. From top left: Bring on the bling, Glow up already!, Extra-va-vaganza!, Simmer & Shimmer, Show it & Glow it!, and Sparkle-icious.

Like with all the gel products, you need to stir them very well before applying. Since this set is heavily filled with glitters, they settled pretty bad. Without stirring them, you’ll pretty much end up having clear gel. Here I only applied one layer and cured for 2 minutes. I should’ve probably done another layer so the colors will be more intense.

Bring on the bling and Glow up already!

Extra-va-vaganza! and Simmer & shimmer

Show it & glow it! and Sparkle-icious

My most favorite two are Extra-va-vaganza! and Show it & glow it!. Like I said, this set is all about glitters. So all six shades have multi-glitters in it. The color really differs by how much a specific shade of glitter compare to the rest of it. Besides the Sparkle-icious has a little bit of everything, the rest of them just have more gold, green, blue, orange and purple respectively. They’re great by itself or as a thin layer on top of other shades. With gels, your nails will be incredibly shiny and it lasts longer. They’re actually a lot prettier than they look. I wish I could take better photos to show you.

Anyway, I hope you like today’s swatch and review. Have a great Thursday! One more day and it’ll be Christmas. And don’t forget to join my giveaway.

I love the nail polish swatches! That sucks that the brush is smaller than a regular brush.

I like the mini OPI teasers too, but those tiny little brushes they have sure make it difficult to nicely apply a coat… Which is really too bad, because I like appetizers, food & nail polish alike 🙂

What did u use to stir the gel for the shows stoppers set it’s very sticky

I actually don’t remember but I think a wooden stick would do. Make sure you stir it a few times so it can be applied evenly throughout.
