OPI Designer Series DS Bold, DS Temptation Swatch and Review

Bright nail colors with shimmers and glitters are pretty bold and eye catching. Sometimes we go under temptation to actually wanting the product. But really glamorous nail colors do add a lot of flavor to our fingertips.

OPI’s Designer Series DS Bold and DS Temptation are the new polishes for their Designer Series collection. It is also my first time playing with polishes from this series.

DS Bold is a bright shimmering red with red and silver glitters over a light jelly red base color. It’s so dearing and passionate, also great for Christmas.

On a one coat application the result is a bit sheer with specks of shimmers covering not a whole lot of ground.

With a two coat application the result is a whole lot different. You get a lot more coverage with shimmers scattered throughout. The color also changes slightly than what i looks in the bottle. Instead of looking red, it’s more like a combination of pink, coral and red. The complexity makes this polish a unique beauty.

DS Temptation is like a deep cosmic purple color that is filled with a lot of fun. There’re a ton of different colored and sized shimmers inside, purple, blue, silver, you name it! The shimmers sitting in the bottle simply look marvelous almost like staring at space.

The single coat application transforms the nail into a more sheer looking purple base with bits and pieces of the shimmers lying all over. The shimmers depicts multi colors with varying shades of purple.

A second coat instantly gives the nail full coverage. This is primarily due to the darker color of the nail polish in nature and the multicolored shimmers.

Here is a side by side comparison of the 2 colors in direct sunlight. Temptation clearly has different colored shimmers and fuller coverage compared to Bold even though both are running on dual coats.

The designer series from OPI provides a much different colored polishes from their main line. The polishes itself are very colorful with shades of red and purple. The shimmers and its multi colors glitters are totally dazzling. Formula wise, both are easy to apply. Though the surface does feel a bit gritty when dried but it’s a lot less noticeable than most glitter polishes. Personally I find it fun to touch it and it’s quite addicting. For the ones that prefer a smoother finish, the roughness can always be evened out with a top coat. Overall I’m loving my first 2 Designer Series polishes.
