Paul & Joe is always eye catching no matter each season and year. Spring 2013 is about the whimsical thrill-ride carousal sparkles and floral delightful cheeks. If you haven’t seen the press it can be seen here. Before we begin today’s feature, I want to note that a look at the Eye Color for Montmarte can be found here. Other than that, let’s begin!
The Cheek Color comes in a chrysanthemum patterned compact (photo shown here) and 10 stunning new shades of refills. Each refill consists of two harmonizing hues on an individual level that can be applied alone or blended together for a custom shade. Today, I will be showing off Cheek Color refills in 03 Gigi and 08 Candy.
When you take them out of the box, they are wrapped around in a clear plastic container shielding itself away from harm. If you look closely the top of the plastic case has an embossed Paul & Joe chrysanthemum pattern.
The directions for usage on the refills is printed on the inside opening flap.
03 Gigi is like a dynamic duo of pinks. The pinks is in the combination of shimmery but also matte form. Its name is derived from a heroine of a female French Writer named Colette. To find out more about the book Gigi you can check wiki.
As for 08 Candy, it is a very Spring transitioning to Summer like color. The name itself Candy, reminds me of Bubblegum whenever I see this palette. It is simply a happy little palette. I think orange color plays a big role in thinking of the word Happy and Bubblegum.
So the way the swatch works is that Gigi is on the left and Candy on the right. I have swatched each color separately and combined for you to see. As you can see Gigi’s combination is a light flush of natural pink that is shimmery whereas Candy is a mixed orangy pink. While the formula is easy to apply on, the colors are sure to look natural on the cheeks. If I haven’t mentioned earlier, these Cheek Colors are pleasantly floral scented. So when you hold them in hand, it’s like having a flower bouquet right in front of you.
Paul & Joe’s Cheek Colors are so amazing! I still remember the ones from last Fall, but this year with 10 dual color offerings, the possibilities are truly unlimited. Even the case compact is both girly and elegant. The colors are of perfect spring combination evoking a gorgeous look with a fresh vibrant vibe.
