Paul & Joe Eye Gloss Duo 01 Secret D’or Swatch and Review

Hot summer, cool breeze, blue horizon of seashore, little shellfish crawling in the sand… With the vision in mind, Paul and Joe captures that in her latest summer makeup collection Blue Horizon. Today I will be unraveling to you the Eye Gloss Duo in 01 Secret D’or! – “It’s the secret of your charm.”

A little description of the product from their website states…

“Our double ended Eye Gloss Duo will give your eyes a stunning, sparkling pearl finish and a sexy metallic color. Use the jelly base or the water base together for long lasting, application.”  – Paul & Joe

Here is a full list of ingredients including Orange Flower Water, White Lily Extract, Jojoba Oil, Sunflower Oil and so on. Enlarge to see details.

3 little symbols fill the bottom of this simple yet elegant packaging. The symbols gives us a good perception that this box is green, gotta read the instruction, and it lasts 12 months.

Upon opening the box, a small folded instruction card is hiding inside.

On the back of the card, it gives a short instruction along with cautions of using this product because Paul & Joe wants us to have fun but at the same time be safe as well.

1) Make sure  to not use on skin with wounds, eczema, or skin irritants.
2) Do not use this product directly in contact with eyes.
3) Stop using this if you feel that your skin is irritated.

Paul & Joe’s Eye Gloss Duo in a full blast look! The product has beautiful floral drawings on both ends. The color combination, nude and golden sand champagne, seems quite relaxing and laid back.

This is the nude water base end.

On the other side besides the beautiful floral details, it has related product information including weight and origin.

The jelly base! I think a golden sand colored dress with floral details would look great for the summer. Hopefully, there’s one from Paul & Joe that I can go check out.

The lovely champagne color really stands out especially behind the floral sketches. Aren’t the designs pretty?

Popping open the bottle, the applicator shows a very rich formula with a delicate floral scent. It seems quite moisturizing and smooth.

Here is the other end popped open. The applicator is a bit different from the nude base side. Since it’s a jelly color, bigger bristles help pick up more product.

Finally, here is the swatch of it. As you can see, the bronzy nude shade is beautiful on its own as an all over color or it can be used as a base. The golden champagne shade is super sparkly with a metallic finish. When I apply them on the eyes, I instant feel a cooling sensation that’s really refreshing. The formula is very moisturizing and easy to blend. The included applicators work great but I find fingertips do the blending job better.

I love the gel the consistency that wears like a powder without smearing or creasing. Though with heavy rubbing motion there’re a few shadow fallouts. So an eyelid base is the way to go. Also note, these eye gloss duos are not waterproof. I tried to wash it with water and it came right off. I kind of like and don’t like about it. The good part is that it’s easy to remove, but if you plan to see a touchy movie or go to a pool party I would wear something else.

Paul & Joe’s Eye Gloss Duo in 01 Secret D’or is the perfect combination of wearability and jewel-like sparkling. Whether using the nude base alone or champagne gold together, the eyes will be instantly dressed up to the center of attention. Paul & Joe offers us the best summer ever! I can’t wait to try the rest of the collection.

I think a sponge applicator would be your friend for this 🙂

Yeah I’m a HUGE fan of their eye glosses… They are really awesome as a base. I used the yellow one for a couple of years….a little bit goes a long way and they last like forever…The nude one is sooooo pretty!
