Paul & Joe Holiday 2012 Eye Color & Lip Balm Set Swatches Review

After seeing the press of the holiday Paul & Joe Eye Color & Lip Balm Set, I thought hmm such a unique design with 3 different tins. Each one has its own adorable little critter with wintery accents. It has all you need for festively glowing eyes and lips, not to mention the whole set makes a perfect gift too in a wrapped up box.

Let’s begin!

Taking each tin out of the box, you will notice that they come designed with cute little furry friends. The Squirrels look especially cute munching on the nuts. Animals need to eat too! The cold weather probably makes them more hungry. And that quiet looking deer is a nice contrast to the busy squirrels.

So as we’ve mentioned earlier, this little boxed wonder comes with three tins filled with eye colors and a kissable lippy. For some reason, I believe if these were put up on a Christmas tree, it would look so fab!

Starting off with Glistening Eye Color 001. It is a half and half eyeshadow color. What I mean by the half and half is that the colors though shimmery in nature, are quite complimenting of each other. The duo includes a sparkling white with a hint of light lilac and a light coppery brown. Shimmers pretty much act like the bubbles? For some odd ball reason this reminds me of Nuvo the Sparkling Vodka. One being illuminating on the eyes and the other lights up the mood.

Next is the Smoky Eye Color 001. Perhaps the darkest color, it is a cross of black and dark brown but in matte format. There are tiny glittering black pearl particles hidden inside, so you will be able to detect them outside in the sun or under the disco ball. I tried wearing the color as a liner on top of the glistening eye duo and as a smoky contouring color, both effects were quite satisfying.

Last but not least is the Lip Balm 001. The lip balm is highlighting and jelly like but with a high gloss. It is easy to use and provides a hydrating moisture to the lips. Color can be seen as a light pinkish fruity punch color. There is also a hint of fruity florals and spearmint which leaves the lips not only plump but also smelling nice.

Here are the swatches.

The packaging really makes me crave for some white outfits, so I’d like to share with you some of my picks. Starting off is a James Perse Panel Shirt. It gives a standard classy look that would go well with almost any sort of bottoms whether it is denim or even simple black pants.

Next, you probably guessed it, it is white denim jeans except from J Brand. These mid rise skinny jeans accentuates the legs and makes them look miles longer in appearance.

If you don’t like shirt and jeans combination, then try this knit dress from Rebecca Minkoff. It is called Emily Knit dress, stylish yet not over board.

Finally, probably my favorite, these UGG boots that react to light and shows different colors each time light hits. This Classic Short Sparkle is what is hot for Holiday. You might even get Santa catch you with these in his sleigh on Christmas.

They aren’t super bold but really highlighting and easy to wear. It is somewhat different from the makeup collection set Sleigh Ride which has a more striking look.
