Paul & Joe Holiday 2012 Make Up Collection 002 Sleigh Ride

I so wish Winter Wonderland is exactly how it is from a fairy tale. It would be delightful to see and touch a magical unicorn that flies over snow and mountains. The glossy mane is filled with wonderfully scented florals. While riding on it, there would be snow flakes falling down from the sky while you see an entire blissful white scenery along with a frozen lake, maybe even a few chipmunks with Santa hats munching on acorns and a flock of deers prancing around.

All of this came to mind after seeing Paul & Joe’s Holiday 2012 Make Up Collection. It is so beautifully attracting that makes me start day dreaming. If you haven’t seen the press release yet, check it out here.

The very first thing you notice from this set is the bright white box with illuminating shiny silver Paul & Joe branding, around it is the winter florals in a wreath style drawing. There are two gift sets 001 Frozen Lilac and 002 Sleigh Ride; both have a face powder, a cream cheek powder and a makeup pouch. The difference between Frozen Lilac and Sleigh Ride is the cheek color, though they share the same Face Powder Kiss of Snow and the same Unicorn Pouch.

Let’s first take a look at the Creamy Cheek Powder. This blush a girly peach toned contouring cheek color that will instantly light up the whole face. It is a quick and easy way to add glamorous and natural flush of color with simple dabs of fingertips. The result is beautifully glowing complexion. I love the snow flakes as a design on the powder. Sadly though, after a use or two it will fade away.

The second item inside the box is the Face Powder. It contains translucent powder with tiny shimmers that brings dazzling shine as a finish. The ultra finely milled powder actually minimizes small imperfections and pores, giving skin a soft focus effect. With the pre-set puff, application has never been so easy.

Last but not least is the unicorn printed pouch. It looks quite tiny and cute, but actually really spacious inside. You can probably fit in everything you need to touch up for a party, besides your keys and some cash. If you open up the inside there is the royal purple lining along with a small compartment on one side. It has this majestic look especially with the winter colored fantasy combination unicorn with floral details in the middle. The drawing is so artistic too! Color coordinating is very feminine with an elegant touch.

Last year, there was also a luxury makeup pouch for holiday. The color is delicate and oriental which I quite like. The pouch itself gave a classy approach in the form of a Japanese Kimono festival look. Basically, wearing a Japanese Kimono to a special event and instead of a purse, the pouch would be wonderful. Though this year’s unicorn pouch is even better. It’s got a striking personality and more practical as a makeup pouch, even for everyday use. The soft silky material with the golden metal accent really blows my mind.

While looking at my winter style wardrobe this year, I noticed I didn’t have a fur coat! I have coats, jackets, and all these outerwear but no fur coats. So, recently I spotted Rachel Zoe Faux-Fur Coat. From what I can tell it is comfy, soft, and warm. That is probably all I need for a completed wardrobe for the snowy weather. Needless to say the coat doesn’t make anyone look like a gigantic yeti, it is just right. Great thing about it is, for Animal Lovers out there, the fur is faux instead of real furry animal fur. That means fur balls stay safe!

Years ago, I bought an all white Burberry coat from Nordy. I haven’t seen it online or instore, I guess it has been too long. To show you what it sorta looks like, GUESS Belted Ssymmetrical Coat has the look but considerably more appealing in price. It also has a luxury feel to it upon a single glance. The collar and the belt make the outfit more interesting. The gold hardware on the shoulders also make a perfect complement to the shimmers of Kiss of Snow powder.

Winter can’t be winter without a good pair of boots. Good thing Alexander McQueen Ankle Boots make style while keeping warm not an issue anymore. I’ve never seen a buckle on the very front of boots before, so I’m a little excited about that.

So I recently bought a pair of legwarmers from my favorite brand Wolford. Wolford Fine Merino Legwarmers are soft and very warm to the legs. I bought it to pair with my Maison Martin Margiela boots. My hubs calls that brand M3 for short.

Having all your winter makeup carried  in a gorgeous pouch makes things a whole lot easier. Not to mention it being stylish while hitting the streets. The dazzling face powder and beautiful cheek color are also essential and must-haves for any holiday party.

Paul & Joe’s Holiday Makeup Sets will be available at BeautyHabit starting November 1.
