RMK Spring Modern Eyes 02 Moss Green Swatch and Review

So a few days ago I decided to look into my beauty vault and found a set of RMK palettes that I have never even written about! Well today, I decided to play with it and here is my take on RMK Spring Modern Eyes 02 Moss Green.

This is the campaign photo for the collection. Moss Green is the model used color out of the 5 eyeshadow palettes; there were also 3 blush palettes. They’re all in an abstract cubist block design. Color wise, vivid and bright, great for spring.

Let’s take a closer look at the eye makeup. I got this snapshot out of my old Biteki magazine. Notice the yellow in the tear duct area really lightens up her eyes. The moss green on the other side is contrasting and balancing, yet sophisticated.

Well now let’s get back to the real deal. I can’t believe I still saved these boxes. It was hard to throw them away when it says “Open Up,” “Choose Me,” and “Take Me.”

02 Spring Modern Eyes.

The back has the descriptions in Japanese but the important parts are in English, 02 Moss Green, 3.9g MADE IN JAPAN.

The case is a bright silver case, although plastic in material it is quite smooth to the touch.

This compact has a unique shape where the clamshell design is rather easy to open because of the middle being tucked in.

Here is the palette! 4 colors are striking yet complementary to each other, especially the baby blue and yellow are super bright. Except the brown shadow, the other 3 contain a lot of shimmers and sparkles.

Here is a shot of the palette direct with sunlight. The shadows seem to be velvety smooth.

Palette with camera flash. Sparkles! And more sparkles!

Next are a few up close shots of the palette and its details, starting off with the baby blue.

Here is a swatch of all the colors from left to right we have baby blue, moss green, lemon yellow, and chocolate brown. The shimmers are really noticeable here though the baby blue is a bit frosty on my skin. Texture is fantastic as is pigmentation, they feel buttery and silky. No fallouts at all.

Even though this palette was from Spring 2010, it is not outdated. The color choice is well coordinating and unique for the season. The eyeshadows are in high quality with maximum shine and shimmer. Stay tuned for the other palettes from this collection…

Japanese eyeshadows are so different from the western brands. It seems a lot more subtle than MAC and Urban Decay.

Some are pretty pigmented and less subtle depends on the brand and model.

RMK probably doesn’t have the Spring Modern Eyes anymore but rather something new for the season like Holiday.

The colours look very “pop art” to me but it looks v wearable on the model though I’m not sure I would highlight the inner corners of my eyes with yellow….

Hey! Who knows, the highlight of yellow might work out on you. Yes it’s a bit “pop art.”

Moss Green is such a gorgeous mermaid green. I’d buy the palette just for it.

It’s not something seen everyday but it’s holds a different look around the eyes like a more colorful appeal.

    Hi,

I remember these palettes from RMK last year. Was looking and ogling at them each time I passed by their counter, but in the end I didn’t get any. 😉

This palette is lovely. Love the green and yellow!
