RMK Spring / Summer 2012 Sprinkling Colors Collection Sprinkling Eyes 01 Brown, Ingenious Natural Eyes N 07 Purple Swatches and Review

One of the top Japanese brands, RMK, brings us vibrant sprinkling colors for the upcoming Spring and Summer. Each palette can be used to create multiple looks instead of the traditional one palette one look. Let’s take a drive and see how each sports.

RMK’s Spring / Summer 2012 collection will be available on February 9, 2012 and can be bought at www.selfridges.comwww.beautybay.com, and www.lookfantastic.com. More information can be obtained at www.rmkrmk.com.

If you haven’t seen what comes with the collection click here for the press release.

RMK is presented in an iconic look from their packaging design with the words, “Choose Me, Take Me, Open Up.” The packaging is generally shiny silver.

There are 3 limited edition Sprinkling Eyes palettes, 01 Brown, 02 Green and 03 Gray. Today I will feature 01 Brown. It is a 4 color eyeshadow palette retailing for ¥4500.

Upon taking everything out of the box, there is a booklet that comes with the palette. But more importantly, check out the foamy protective insert that holds the palette. It prevents it from scratches and mishaps!

Here is a half opened shot of the palette. Not only are the colors coordinating, the palette as a whole brings a warmth upon glance.

The top most color is the base in brown. Underneath the base each color are a shadow for designing the look. From left to right, the colors are dark brown, neutral gold, and bright orange. If you haven’t noticed yet, the dual sided brush has a side dedicated to the base color which it titled, “BASE.”

Here is the palette in the sun. As you might notice, the colors are quite pigmented along with shimmers all scattered about. Probably the most noticeable one is the lower right orange brown shadow.

Cutting off all the background, you can see the direct top down look of the colors and the brush. The brush is much more detailed now. If you forget about the BASE thing that I mentioned, just remember the golden brown hair is marked BASE whereas the darker brown is for the shadows. Also note the shadow brush is slightly softer than the BASE brush too.

I decided to post the important part of the booklet that describes how the shadow is worn.

“A tri-coloured palette with one cream textured base. The three hues in powder become three different tones when layered on top of the cream base. One palette to transform you with three complete different looks for any occasion.”

…And finally, here are the colors swatched! The first three colors from left to right are the eye shadows. The last color (right most color) is the cream base. What I noticed in particular was that the base was really creamy. It was easy to apply on with a simple glide. The base is used to magnify the lucent pearlescent powder for a clear shimmering finish.

The next palette I will be presenting is Ingenious Natural Eyes N 07 Purple. This palette is a new shade to the existing 6 color variations. It (4.8 g) retails for ¥6000.

There are two noticeable differences between this palette and the one shown first in the post. Fatter, Bigger, Chunkier, etc etc is not a difference that I am mentioning… LOL! The difference is the palette here uses a felt cloth pouch to protect itself instead of a foamy board. The other difference is that this palette has a frosted white plastic cover design on the top of its palette. It also feels smoother than the sprinkling eyes palette.

The design of the frosted white is what makes the words “RMK” highlight to lighting.

Here are two more shots for you to see in regards to the case design.

This quad is really neat because of all the purple hues that you can get. Starting from the top left and going clockwise, the colors are as follows lavender purple, baby pink, grayish purple, and sky blue. The colors are quite vivid and feminine.

After getting the sun involved, I immediately saw the reflective properties of the shimmers. The colors also look iridescent yet ultra smooth.

Cutting out everything nearby, you can see a blown up photo of the colors along with the brush by itself.

After swatching the colors I noticed a lot of things that were quite pleasing, for example they’re finely milled with no shadow fallouts. Each shade is pigmented and they all have some sort of shimmer or sheen to it. The beauty of this palette is that you can simply layer or blend each color together for different looks. You might be worried that the colors might not blend well. So RMK decided to add a special formula which prevents the colors from obstructing each other when blending.

Both palettes from RMK spring collection shown today can be used to achieve numerous looks. Sprinkling Eyes 01 Brown is great for a warm and earthy look. While for a cool toned elegant look, go for the Ingenious Natural Eyes 07 Purple. As always, these palettes are made with high quality, stylish packaging design and easy to wear colors. Different looks from day time to night time can be transformed in no time while you layering and blending these spring themed colors. No matter which look you desire, RMK has the palette that’s ready to rock! I can’t wait to see what the other colors look like!

Such luxury~ I never knew about this RMK brand until today. Doing a quick research led me to being mad because I missed out on the RMK x Kate Spade;;;; I love everything KATE SPADE.

That RMK x Kate Spade came with a Kate Spade bag as well to fit the palette.

RMK’s releases are one of the best. The products are quite nice and sleek. I think they release on 02/09/2012 for some of the websites that you can order through online.

I am waiting for this to release here. I have all of the Ingenious Palettes from 1 through 6 and I really want #7. The colors are so majestically nice almost too popped up with a clash between cute and cool.

That brown toned palette looks really nice for summer.

I actually thought of that as well. Since usual themes for Summer are kinda brown sometimes.

How does the Ingenious Quad compare to Suqqu’s Mizuaoi?

    • admin February 6, 2012 at 4:35 AM

I wish I could give you an answer. But I don’t own the Mizuaoi quad. Sorry!
