Serge Lutens L’Eau Froide Review

A simple design with a clean look, sleek from top down without a hint of cumbersome, Serge Lutens new fragrance channels a clean cotton feel. It’s like clothes freshly coming out of the laundry all cleaned to the teeth.

What is this fragrance?

L’Eau Froide is a fragrance with lasting power that goes on forever and ever. Even a simple wash or two won’t take your nose off the smell. The fragrance is unisex, so both you and your partner can enjoy it at the same time? As long as the scent is nice and it caters to your taste why not right?

Going back on L’Eau Froide, it has a powerful exotic scent that sticks right in your brain after a gentle spritz. In French, L’Eau Froide means cool water. Just like its name, the fragrance is sparkling almost reminding me of a scent similar to champagne but not quite that. It has a clean green scent with incense like background. I can sense the cool minty marine kind of wave coming out of it. On the other hand it reminds me of clean clothes just coming out of the washer. After a while though, the scent gradually loses its initial green and moves on into woodiness with a spicy kick.

The fragrance features notes of Olibanum, Sea Water, Musk, Vetiver, Mint, Incense, Pepper, and Ginger.

L’Eau Froide is my first Serge Lutens fragrance. What I find surprising about it, is that I always thought Serge Lutens himself comes up with complex scents. Except, this specific one had me jumping off the chair because of its uniqueness. At first I had a hard time appreciating it but after a few days, it suddenly clicked, the fragrance gave off a clean masculine aura. Compare to a lot of fragrances, the wear time is incredible. The scent usually lasts over 10 hours on me, even after days there is still a trace of mint left on the clothes.

Leau Froide has an unexpected scent that was troubling for me in the beginning. Though it is unique and one of its kind.

Serge Lutens has one of the best perfumes. Too bad only Barney’s carries them.

Oh I never tried this one. It seems a little weird though?

Its smell is indeed unique upon the first time use. Kinda seductive though overtime.
