Shiseido Fall 2012 Lacquer Rouge BE306 RD702 Swatches and Review

Today was probably the worst day for me. My entire day was filled with meetings and meetings and meetings!!! I just want to YELL!!!! Though, I thought I would have a better day after the meetings were over and NO it isn’t like 5’O Clock from T-Pain Featuring Wiz Khalifa & Lily Allen. Anyways, I went home and took a nap then rested until like 7 at night until I realized I wanted to go shopping. Both the store and Yelp said they were open until 9. When I got there it was 8 and the manager said it was closed. I showed her the hours of operation from their website on my iPhone. She wouldn’t budge and said the website wasn’t updated. Sadly, I went home afterwards. This is the story of my day, kind of remind me of this song hubs played on his guitar hero game.

On the brighter side, the hubs ended up buying me a pair of boots from M3 (Abbreviated by him for Maison Martin Margiela) and a Burberry Belt. Moving on, I was also happy to try 2 of the new Shiseido Lacquer Rouges from this season and they are quite nice.

Shiseido’s Lacquer Rouge comes with 8 new shades that are rich and creamy in texture but also embrace intense color. Inspired by Japanese Lacquerware, these liquid lipsticks are quite powerful to the lips that bring out luster and intensity.

Each lacquer comes in the brand’s signature camellia logo shaped case that has a twist and turn pop out applicator. Just be sure to mix the formula thoroughly with the applicator prior to use and put it back afterwards. This will ensure the consistency of the lip color and keep it from drying out.

Out of the 8 shades, I will be showing BE306 Camel and RD702 Savage today.

BE306 Camel is a simple and chic beige while RD702 Savage is a rich earthy brown. The slanted doe foot applicator fits the shape of the lips while picking up enough product for a single application. So there’s no need for dipping it into the tube multiple times, which means less air will be pumped inside to ruin the product.

Here are the swatches. The consistency on these are quite similar to Ellis Faas’ Milky Lips. Another example around consistency is that these are a bit thicker than the YSL Rouge Pur Glossy Stains. You probably get the idea. But nonetheless, these lip lacquers have a smooth and glossy finish that is deep and rich in pigments. Looking at them is like seeing a topcoat with a shine. But that’s not all, these Lacquers improves dry and rough lips because they have moisturizing capabilities. Onto the lips they’re really comfortable just like Guerlain’s L’Extrait, but so much more moisturizing and less tacky if not completely non-tacky. The lasting power is also superb while providing constant hydration to the lips.

The lacquers from Shiseido don’t cease to amaze us on how well they incorporate skincare benefits in their makeup. There moisturizing capabilities in these products really help the lips remain hydrated and supple without drying or peeling. But at the same time, the lips are intensely enhanced with color pigmentation and lacquer like shine.

Shiseido Lacquer Rouges ($25 each) are available already at Nordstrom, Sephora, & Shiseido Counters.

I’ve been eyeing these for a while now. Shiseido is a brand that’s often overlooked here, something I don’t understand because they have amazing products! And yes liquid lipsticks are big love here!

Shiseido really is an amazing brand. I remembered my very first department store lipstick was from shiseido and I finished it till the last bit. Now I’m looking forward to see more colors from their Lacquer Rouge.
