Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color Techno Gold GD803 Purple Dawn VI305 Swatch and Review

Shiseido makes great cream eyeshadows, whether it’s neutral, bright or bold. It always brings out the best of the colors. When I heard the brand has a new cream shadow line for fall, I was so excited. The new line is called Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colors. Today I have two of them, Techno Gold GD 803 and Purple Dawn VI 305 up for review.

The shadows are housed in a red packaging with net wt. of 6g. It’s available at Shiseido.com for $25.00 a piece. Along with another 10 shades, these cream shadows replace the Hydro-Powder Eye Shadows created several years ago.

There are two interpretations for its cap. The first one is the representation of the brand’s Camelia logo, same one shown on the top of the packaging. The second is for the grip of the fingers. The cap can be twisted against the flat jar for ease of access. Pretty slick thinking if you ask me.

Techno Gold, GD 803, sports a melted pure gold bar color. Take a look at it with direct sunlight below.

Swatched on my arm with one swipe. It is amazing how pigmented the color is. The texture is also velvety smooth, just like Hokkaido butter. If you haven’t tried it, you really should. It is the smoothest and creamiest pure heaven. The cream shadow is just like that, it melts with the finger temperature and glides on effortless.

Purple Dawn, VI 305, is the color that model wore in the promo image. It’s a vibrant regal purple with multi-colored micro shimmers. Under the sunlight you can see a bit of the shimmers scattered around.

Purple Dawn actually shares a lot of similarities with Techno Gold. It has the same buttery smooth texture and superb pigmentation, but the shimmers for Purple Dawn is more complex than Techno Gold. As you can see, Techno Gold mainly has silver and gold shimmers while Purple Dawn has pink, silver, blue and purple shimmers.

Compare to the previous Hydro-Powder Eye Shadows, the Shimmering Cream Eye Colors are even smoother in texture and richer in pigmentation. I do love the Hydro-Powder Eyeshadows, but it just seems the Shimmering Cream Eye Colors are a upgraded version of the previous. The colors are so vivid and they stay fresh for hours. At the same time it is super blendable and keep my eyes well hydrated. To put these shadows to test, I wore both to trick-or-treating yesterday, and had a full course of Japanese cuisine afterwards. Both shadows lasted over 10 hours until I took them off. There was absolutely no creasing, cracking or caking at all. I was truly impressed by the formulation. Application wise, it is also super easy to apply. I like to use my fingertip to pick up the shadow. The buttery cream instantly melts and glides on flawlessly on my eyelid. These Shimmering Cream Eye Colors really are must-haves for that lustrous long lasting eye color.

I’ve been a big fan of Shiseido’s cream shadows. I also tried some of their Asian brands’ versions. They were all lovely. So I really want to get some of these shimmering cream eye colors. They don’t look so shimmering in the swatches?

They are shimmery. If you apply it on and look at it in person, you could see a much better effect.

I believe the purple one is the one that the model uses on the poster.
