Blackheads, clogged pores, enlarged pores, and the whole shabang! Those are things that I really hate and they are so hard to get rid of. You could use peels and strips but they’re definitely not comfortable. To pull something out of the hat, Shu Uemura Skin Purifier Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil does the trick. It comes in 2 sizes and looks very clean cut.
When I had mentioned about the 2 sizes, it has a smaller size of 150 ml and a bigger bottle of 450 ml. The one shown here is 150 ml. If you look at the box design, you will notice that it has a matching pink color top flap with the color of the bottle.
If you are not familiar with the brand, Shu Uemura debuted the world’s first oil-based cleanser and today they are still one of the best cleansing oil makers. There are different types of oil targeting specific needs, the pink one shown today is for pores. I have written about the Brightening Oil one in the past and believe it or not, the company also made a Cleansing Oil for hair too.
On the side of the box is the instructions in all sorts of popular languages. If you don’t like reading instructions, look down and you will find pictures on the bottom depicting the usage. But one of the main things is to emulsify the cleansing oil then rinse it off with water.
The bottle comes in clear plastic with a snow white pump on top. Being see through, you might notice the very same instructions from above are imprinted on the bottle as well. It is great! Because some of us throw away the box automatically after taking the product out. So if we need to refer to instructions, it is on the bottle.
This pore cleansing oil works for a variety of skin types such as combination to oily, even acne-prone skin. Such versatility! The way this oil works is that while removing makeup it also eliminates excess sebum and impurities inside pores. So our skin is cleaner and looks more refined.
Before we give the oil a whirl, the stage needs to be set. You can see a variety of colors zigzagged, clouded, drawn, and blacked out. You get the picture. There is a mix of foundation, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick. The reason why I chose a larger variety is because I want to showcase how this oil works towards multiple different subjects versus just one or two. So let’s begin!
After I applied a pump of the cleansing oil, I spread it out and rubbed it a bit. By now I smell a faint fresh floral scent which is subtle yet soothing. The oil felt lightweight on the skin. As you can see most of our subjects have vanished into thin air except a stubborn trace of waterproof mascara. It isn’t their playground anymore if it is time to remove makeup.
Let’s emulsify! You can see that everything is gone. Not a trace of color at all. The oil did turn into milky white color but the reaction is very mild. The skin also felt fresh but not tight.
Finally, let’s rinse and see the final outcome. Everything is gone, along with pores being cleansed and the skin has been purified. When I touch it, it feels even softer and smoother than before.
Such a lightweight cleansing oil is the word to describe this awesome cleansing oil. It left the skin clean and redefined with freshness. Colors, stubborn colors, and colors that don’t want to leave are now obsolete. No more worries about clogged pores either!
Speaking of freshness, I thought only Downy and Tide left freshness after washing things in the laundry. I guess Shu’s cleansing oil will work even better? After all it is quite easy to use and much gentler with effectiveness, perfectly suited as an agent to cleanse our skin.
