SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, Holy Water for Flawless Skin

People these days are lucky when it comes to beauty products, we’re literally spoiled with choice of hundreds of brands each day. But if there’s one brand a person uses and loves for 10 years, then there must be something special about it. And that person isn’t just anybody, she’s Cate Blanchett, winner of Golden Globe Awards and Academy Award. Not only Cate, Japanese star Koyuki has also been using it for 10 years, Korean star Im Su Jeong 3 years, Cantonese model Qiqi 13 years. The list goes on and on. They may not use the brand for the same length of time but there’s one thing in common, they all have crystal clear skin and healthy radiant complexion. So what is the secret key to their flawless skin?

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, indeed a Secret Key to beauty, is what we will be featuring today.

The Facial Treatment Essence comes in three sizes 75 ml, 150 ml, and 215 ml. They are available for online at But wait! There is a special holiday Rochas edition that is available only at The holiday edition is limited so get yours while you can.

Let’s start with some background knowledge about the brand, shall we? It all started back in 1970 when a group of scientists accidentally discovered soft and youthful hands of sake brewers. For non alcohol drinkers, sake is a type of rice fermented alcohol beverage originated in Japan. The discovery inspired research into the yeast fermentation process. With years of screening over 300 types of yeasts, finally we have the SK-II signature ingredient, Pitera. But what exactly is Pitera? Simply put, Pitera is a blend of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids which miraculously gives the skin a rebirth appearance.

Facial Treatment Essence is the core of the SK-II products, containing over 90% Pitera. It restore vital balance by promoting the skin’s natural 28-day surface renewal process. Because it’s so magical, the Facial Treatment Essence is also called “holy water”.

Aside from looking at the pictures above regarding the bottle, let’s take a look at the actual holy water itself. Dripping a little on your hand, you would notice a slight sake scent, very refreshing and calming.

After applying the essence, the absorption of the essence was almost on contact which instantly brought hydration to the skin and the hydration simply stayed there on lockdown.

To get the best out of this SK-II products, inside the box is also an instructions booklet teaching you how to do the SK-II ritual. Note, Facial Treatment Essence can also be used as an eye mask. So you can tell how gentle it really is.

With as little as 2 weeks, I’ve noticed my skin changed. The moment I put the Facial Treatment Essence on, my skin is moisturized. Day after day, I can feel my skin getting softer, smoother and more radiant. My pores are also getting smaller, and my face doesn’t look as oily as before. The skin felt renewed with much better complexion even without makeup. The product isn’t just a hype it really does deliver. I would say get the Holiday Edition while you still can because the bottle looks extra fancy!

I don’t like lotion that has alcohol in it. Does the SK-II facial treatment essence have any sake alcohol in it?

It’s a sweet clean smell. You will love it! Stop by the local Saks or Bloomingdales counter to try it out.
