SK-II Skin Refining Treatment Review

With a lot of personal stress that I’ve been through last year, I noticed that my skin got duller and less radiant than normal. It felt tight in general but oily in T-zone along with annoying breakouts her and there. The problem got worse during summer to the point that even my regular skincare regiment plus facial masks wouldn’t do the trick anymore. So one day when I was strolling in Saks around cosmetic counters, I happened to stop at SK-II. The lady there was really nice and asked about my skin concerns. I told her that I wanted to restore firmer younger looking skin with less pores and breakouts. She immediately recommended two products, one being SK-II most famous Facial Treatment Essence (reviewed here)that I’ve been loving for years and the other being Skin Refining Treatment which was new to me.

SK-II Skin Refining Treatment

Seemed like a typical cream moisturizer, I wonder what this little jar does. The first thing the lady pointed out and warned me about was that this is NOT a moisturizer. I’m glad she did or else I would be so confused and expected it to work in a different way. First of all, this cream is really light almost like a whipped cream. It spreads effortlessly onto the skin and absorbs easily. It has a fainted fruity smell that dissipates in seconds. I liked the feel and the smell but still a little skeptical. Can this normally looking cream really improve my skin texture? With the deep trust towards the brand, I went ahead and shelled out $150 plus tax with hope and hesitation on the spot.

The result? In short it didn’t fail, matter of fact none of the SK-II products failed me so far. I’ve been applying this cream at night after lotion and serum for 6 months. This is already my second jar. The cream is very simple to use. I just smooth it on and do circular movements avoiding the eyes and in less than a minute it’s fully absorbed without leaving any residue. As I mentioned earlier, this cream is really lightweight. At first I didn’t pay much attention to the result but after about one month, I really did see my skin got clearer and smoother. It’s also brighter with inner glow that looked much healthier than before. Without notice, I haven’t had much breakouts. So it must be this cream that really worked.

SK-II Skin Refining Treatment Cream

SK-II Skin Refining Treatment is a great product for problematic skin. It works as a night cream but different than a moisturizer. Being more like a facial exfoliator to be exact, it’s much gentler yet effective to be used daily. With its easy application, dead skin cells are removed and a younger polished looking skin is revealed. Pores are tightened and look less visible while the skin is all ready for makeup. The price tag of $150 is well justifiable for its high performance and true luxurious sensation.

This miracle cream can be purchased at Nordstrom, Sephora, Saks and Bloomingdales.

Thanks, vrischika! I actually only use the cream after lotion and serum. I don’t apply moisturizer before or after it. Hope this helps.
