smashbox LUXE METALLICS GLAMBOX Swatch and Review

When we want to go out to have fun or even put on makeup for work during the day, we sometimes fidget and think, “Which colors are good with which?” It is sometimes so mind boggling! Couldn’t makeup be in a set… especially if it was from the same brand giving us a look that we don’t have to worry about?

Well look no further because the friendly folks at smashbox has created a box, and what I mean is a box of goodies that can give us a set look already pre-configured. No more rushing to work thinking what am I going to put on or even going on a date, making your boyfriend wait.

“Take your look to luxurious levels with this set of metallic shades from Smashbox. From shimmering bronzes to sumptuous golds, this kit contains everything you need to create opulent looks for day and night.”

A whole box full of makeup from smashbox valued at $190 costs only: $68 @ or

Enclosed in the box is a little booklet that gives us 2 looks that are easily made with the combination of the products in the box. The first page is the Bronze Glow look giving off a much golden look.

The second page is the Metallic Smoke look. Take a note of the eye lids and cheeks. See how easy it is now that there is a box to give us a set look that we don’t have to worry or be pressed on time?

The contents inside the box are shown below with:

Eyelights Quad in LUXE
Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in VAMP
Fusion Soft Lights in LUSTER
Lip Enhancing Gloss in GILDED NUDE (TRUE)
Lip Enhancing Gloss in ROSE QUARTZ (SHEER)
Blush Rush in SURGE
Full Exposure Mascara Mini in JET BLACK
…… and there is an Arced Liner Brush #21.

Starting off with the Fusion Soft Lights. It is designed and made just like a big radiant jewel. The colors are also wearable every day.

I have swatched the colors going from left to right is in relations to the colors from top right to bottom left. Indeed the colors are contrasted from lightest to darkest with the colors being vanilla, golden beige, coppery rose, and terracotta.

Here is a swatch of the colors all blended together creating a very subtle look.

Next up we have the Eyelights Quad. The colors are a little similar to the Fusion Soft Lights with the exception of this being incredibly pigmented. The colors are cream (bottom), rosy mauve (left), bronze (right), and coppery-purple (top).

The colors were very easy to apply on and they were also shimmery with a lot of pigmentation as well. The colors from left to right is as follows: cream, rosy mauve, coppery-purple, and bronze.

The Blush Rush is a rosy pink color. The case is so compact and easy to open.

This blush was really easy to apply. Just a dab gives a rosy colored cheek in no time.

Full Exposure Mascara from smashbox is an award winning product that they made. A briefly description about the product from their site states:

“Inspired by the on-set technique of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over a volumizing formula, our new studio-tested mascara exposes your longest, fullest lashes. No clumps, no flakes. Just maximum-impact, scene-stealing lashes. • 104% increase in lash volume• 32% increase in lash length• 34-degree increase in lash curl Go on set at Smashbox the day Full Exposure came to life.”

Here is an inside look at the brush head. The bristles can really get to the bottom of every lash making the application flawless.

The color on the mascara is black which can give length and volume to our existing lashes. It also does a great job holding curls.

Included in this set is also two very different colored Lip Enhancing Glosses of which are True Color (Gilded Nude) and Sheer Color (Rose Quartz). Both Lip Enhancing Glosses contain shimmers making the jelly like gloss very shiny.

Our last piece of makeup from this box is the Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner. The color is a very dark purple look filled with fine shimmers.

The swatches on the two lip glosses and the waterproof eyeliner is shown below. From left to right we have Lip Enhancing Gloss in True Color Gilded Nude, Lip Enhancing Gloss in Sheer Color Rose Quartz, and Jet Set Eye Liner in Vamp. As you might notice the glosses are very jelly like with shimmers spread across. The eye liner on the other hand had a fine pigmentation. The eye liner was also waterproof and it really does what it claims. I tried to wash it off with water, no luck, but with a bit of makeup removing oil, it came off right away.

I had to take a close up picture of the lip glosses because of how shimmery they were. They really sparkled a lot.

Having this much makeup in a box is so much fun. What is more fun is you get two different looks! While playing around with the different products enclosed in the set, I found both looks were very easy to achieve, no matter being a bit dramatic or simply subtle. So you can decide which look you want to sport. It’s just a matter of seconds to change the look you want!

Not even that, the price is totally sweet. For $68, there are 8 products, 13 colors in the kit. That’s like a Santa’s present at a bargain price. If you haven’t checked out this set, I suggest you go take a look.

These colors are really daytime friendly, I do wish there’s something more intense for the night time. Like last time they had sultra/sweet box.

They do have the Metallic Smoke look in that same box. It’s a more intense version of being subtle.
