smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer Review

No matter what skin type you are, you can always benefit from hydration. It not only makes your skin function properly, but also gives you healthy, glowing look. When our skin is dehydrated everything just goes wrong, even including our makeup. I remember the days of having flaky parched skin when I’m not hydrated. Luckily those days are over. Smashbox has created the Photo Finishing Hydrating Foundation Primer!, a primer that keep your skin feel hydrated and your makeup looks better.

It comes in a 1 oz squeeze tube, selling for $42 at smashbox.com. The primer is also oil free!

Here is a description on how they came up with the idea of a Photo Finish Hydrating Foundation Primer. Basically, it was created to give hydration for a healthier, younger looking skin and makeup. In turn everything looks better behind the lens.

After taking out the primer, the soft blue color is not only eye refreshing, it almost gives a cooling sensation. The squeeze tip is easy to use and also very hygienic.

This is all you need for the whole face, just a little dab and smooth it out. It feels cooling and refreshing when applied.

Even though the primer seems to have a blue tint, it goes on clear when blended out. The primer is super moisturizing that makes my skin feel smooth and soft. The tiny fine lines are all filled.

Smashbox has really given a great primer an added bonus to everyone, hydration. The oil free formula is super light weight. Unlike some of the primers make your foundation look cakey or heavy, this primer goes on extremely natural and it stays on fresh for hours. The cooling effect feels very refreshing on the skin. It also does a great job in filling in pores and fine lines. I can see my skin look a lot smoother. It’s definitely worth every penny.

I agree with you. This is a great hydrating primer. My dry skin holds up makeup so much better with it.

I love smashbox primers. I’ve gone through like 5 tubes of the original photo finish primer. Now I want to try this one after I finish my current one.

I also had a travel size photo finish primer. I think this will work better in the winter time.

This sounds really good. I may have to go and get a sample of it from Sephora. I did use their original Photo Finish primer but didn’t like it at all. I skin didn’t like it much either as it felt a bit prickly and itched although I never did break out. Hopefully this one won’t do that.

    Thanks for the review!

Oh sorry to hear the original didn’t work out for you. I had a travel sized one and it didn’t feel itchy on me but it wasn’t as hydrating as this one either. Hope this one works out.

I really love this primer. It’s the most hydrating primer I’ve seen so far.

This primer sounds really good, yet I still can’t sympathize with Smashbox ever since I tried out their regular makeup primer some time ago. I guess it’s because of the high dose of silicone in it that makes my skin feel like suffocating.
