Even though Spring is almost over and Summer is slowly creeping in, the colors of Smashbox are always edgy and fresh. Let’s take a look at how the collection looks.
Starting off with the eye shadow, the palette is known as Entice Me. Not only does it come in a packaging that shows a love me through the transparent case, it can also function so that the letters can be lifted for easier shadow pickup.
The color scheme is like a work of art. The flowing mosaic art is composed of complementing colors. It does somewhat look like a painting if laid flat. Note that not every shadow is the same size, where you can see that the taupe and pink are much larger than the rest. Reason? We tend to use these colors more, don’t we?
Five of the colors are absolutely stunning where they look fit for a more rocker, more deeper and darker look with highlights from the lighter colors. Most of the colors are shining with shimmers and pigmented overall.
The Megatint Long Wear Lip Color comes in a sleek black tube that is slimmer than the average lipstick. For the purpose of today’s feature, color Cerise is a very crimson like cherry red that highlights the lips. The Megatint is something that makes the overall lips look bright and smooth with intense color.
Next product we have the Lip Enhancing Gloss Adore Me, that is a hot pink with subtle shimmers all throughout. The packaging design is clear but has the love graffitied on the uniformally matching package design.
Last but not least is the Halo Blush In Bloom which is so compact yet convenient. The blush comes with a flip open top. Once opened you will notice that there is a twist and turn sticker. Once you peel it, grinder holes are visible. That is how the blush is dispensed. It always gives you the right amount of product without the mess.
Swatches wise, the colors from each of the products stay true. The megatint lipstick is creamy and moisturizing almost like a lip balm. Though color payoff is pretty amazing for a lip tint. It can be worn with a sheer wash or intensified with multi-coats. Staying power is almost quite good. Love Me gloss Adore Me is a bit transparent but with lustrous shimmers. Layering it on top of megatint makes the lips look even fuller, and it doesn’t feel sticky at all. Lastly the halo blush really caught my eye with its packaging at first, though mineral formula is the main reason that won my heart. The color is so natural that it looks like the skin is blushing from inside out. And since the packaging lets you control how much product to dispense, you don’t have to worry about overdoing.
Spring is all about these subtlety rosy flowery colors, though some of these can also float into summer. Smashbox always has the colors looking sharp and eye-catching. The completed look is quite remarkable. If you combine both the lipstick and lip gloss the lips would look extremely glossy with high impact color. Pairing it up with the trendy blue eyeshadow and natural yet luminous blush, everything is put together into a fresh edgy feminine look.
