Summer Finished Products

Inspired by Lulu from Luluchinadoll, I’m finally sharing with you my first “finished products”. I’m a type of person that’s stingy when it comes to using skincare and cosmetic products. I don’t know why but it seems like it takes forever and ever for me to finish off with one product. I guess my smaller face has something to do with it. Anyways I won’t be able to make a post every month but I will try to do a seasonal post instead.

My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Mask. I don’t even know how many types of MBD masks I’ve used so far. For sure this isn’t my favorite. I really like the Pearl Powder Mask and Cherry Blossom Mask. This one only smelled good but I haven’t seen much visible results. I got this at my local Asian grocery store. They always have the 2 boxes for 28 bucks deal. My husband got the Cooling Mask which is great for soothing and calming.

Back of the box shows the ingredients and instructions.

Shiseido Aqualabel White Essence Cream. This is my 3rd jar over the years. I’ve been buying it from sasa.com and my local Mitsuwa market. I use it as my goodnight mask cream for the last step of my skincare routine. I really like the light texture and the not so strong scent. The moisturizing effect is decent as well. When I wake up in the morning my face feels hydrated and looks radiant. It does what it supposed to do.

Shiseido Ma Chérie Platinum Veil Hair Treatment. I got this at sasa.com a while ago. As you might already know, Ma Chérie Platinum Veil Shampoo (pink line) has been one of my favorite shampoos so far. The main reason is it makes my hair airy and shiny like no other. Sadly my local store doesn’t carry the shampoo anymore and Shiseido has revamped the line into a more princess-y packaging. So back to the Hair Treatment, I really like it. Although the tube I got from sasa was actually made in Taiwan, it works perfectly fine for me. The smoothing effect is actually a little better than the Tsubaki red and white lines. I would call it a tie to the new Tsubaki Head Spa Massage Mask.

Dior Duo-Phase Eye Makeup Remover. It’s definitely a disappointment to me. It failed in every way. It was greasy, weak and pricy. I couldn’t imagine a brand like Dior makes such a horrible eye makeup remover. I tried to finish it off fast but after a while, I just thought “forget it, it’s not going to take off my mascara”. So I only use it for light eye makeup situations and non waterproof eye liners. It took me almost a year to get rid of it.

Matrix Biolage Cooling Mint Shampoo. My husband and I got this shampoo and their hair treatment at Ulta’s buy one get one 50% off. We wanted to adventure western hair products out of boredom. Bad move! After using the hair treatment only once, I said oh this stuff sucks, it doesn’t do anything. And after using the shampoo for a week, my scalp starts to feel itchy all the time. I asked my husband and he said you’re right, it doesn’t rinse off. So I guess it’s not my own problem. This shampoo just doesn’t work at least not for us.

Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector. I finish it a while ago. You can read the review here. My final thoughts about it, it’s not bad. For a $50 whitening treatment, the price is reasonable. It does sort of even out my skin tone. But I’m not repurchasing it after I started using Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum. With White Lucent the result is more noticeable but at the same time you gotta shell out almost triple the price. So the choice is yours.

I’m going to save up more empty bottles and tubes since now I feel like a big achievement showing them. Also the faster I finish more products, the sooner it gives me an excuse to buy new stuff.

I agree on the Dior Eye Makeup Remover. I didn’t like how it felt, and it took a lot of work to get makeup off. I have since relegated it to light makeup and swatch remover.. I really liked the Beautymaker one, but since it’s always sold out at Imomoko, I’m forced to try other brands. Next up is Lancome.

Biolage.. I tried it years ago and it made my scalp dry out like crazy. Just wasn’t for me.. 🙁

    Thank you for sharing!

aww that sucks to hear that the Dior duo-phase makeup remover didn’t work too well on you. I’ve tried it before too and I didn’t find it any better or worse than Lancome’s or Shiseido’s :/

I always use up skincare way too fast than I thought, but I never use up my makeup products fast enough. Although I buy a lot of them, haha^0^.

Hmmm my favourite flavour from MBD should be Yogurt. The butter cookie smell is sooooooooo delicious! Speaking of masks, have you tried the ones from faceQ? They are very good and I prefer them over MBD masks!!

If you do like the Shu glue, do continue using it! It is more affordable than the DUP one too, but the only thing is it comes in tube thus it doesn’t have a brush applicator, yes? I was using a tube glue prior to DUP and I find that it isn’t as convenient.
