So the image that you saw 2 weeks ago was none other than the new Suqqu Blend Color Eyeshadow EX-10 Hikarikonayuki for Christmas 2012. Unlike previously seen palettes, this one comes in a snow white case depicting winter theme. Also, something entirely different where it is more along the lines of cleanness.
Just like last year’s Suqqu Christmas Kit, there was more than just a palette. Though, this year Suqqu has packed more things inside than the previous. Not only comes with the palette itself, the kit is also garnished with Mascara Volume Long N 01, Reset Cleansing Cream, and Refining Foam. Also, there is an original pouch as well that I will show you later.
Beginning with the palette, the colors are ranging from shimmery chocolate-brown to orange-gold, even highlighting pale and pink. The combinations are earthy low key, at the same time shiny with shimmers. What the colors produce is a warm tone that wraps around the eyes with classy festive tone.
Here is a quick snap of the palette in direct sunlight. This gives a more actual depiction of the colors. As you can tell, that this time Suqqu again incorporates different textures and finishes in the palette, making the colors lively even in the pan.
After swatching the ultra finely milled shadows on the arm, I felt the colors blending in quite well with the skin without chunks or any sudden elapse of color. Instead it is smooth almost too silky smooth that seems to melt into the skin instantly. Colors blend in quite well among each other as well. It is quite accented from light to deep within similar if not same color families. Not only that, the colors are really versatile. They are not meant only for the holiday season, even though perfect for a grand party; they could be worn everyday or any day. That’s what Suqqu had in mind when creating their eye palettes.
After looking at the palette, I want to show you the mascara that comes included. It is 4g (Not to be confused with the mobile phone ads that talk about the 4G talk and text etc) in size which is perfect for carrying around.
Besides showing you the actual wand itself, here are some details pertaining to the mascara. So the mascara is water-resistant that means, tears and sweat are not going to ruin your beautiful eye makeup. The color is black and the wand feels soft but creates a firm curled eyelash. I don’t know if you can tell by the size, but the wand itself is really slim. This feature is great when you want to get those tiny lashes covered, for example lower and corner leashes.
So here is the long awaited pouch. The pouch is shiny in gold but not the super fancy looking ones rather an elegant gold finish.
The inside lining features a shimmery bronze copper brown like color that evokes pure class. Both the outside and inside holds a great color combination. The padding is cushiony and the pouch itself is quite roomy. Besides putting in the eyeshadow palette, it can also fit in a powder compact and a lip gloss.
Last but not least, here are both creams that come with the kit. Reset Cleansing Cream comes in a 40g tube that absorbs excess sebum and removes light makeup. It cleanses your skin so that it feels smooth and hydrated. Whereas the Refining Foam Cream (30g in size) turns into a rich lather that hugs your face while washing away impurities minus the irritation part and finally refines the face for a smooth and hydrated finish. First time trying Suqqu skincare products, I’m more than satisfied with the results. Both cleansers are very effective and they smell just as great.
Coming complete in a pouch, Suqqu’s colors never cease to amaze in quality. This year bringing the white in, makes everything look a whole lot different than the past and having more in a kit than previously. Aside from the fantastic looking palette, the mascara and cleansers are all really easy to carry around should you be traveling. Needless to say, Suqqu is such a luxurious brand.
