T3 Featherweight Luxe Dryer Review

Sometimes styling your hair is like a drag. The blow dryer is super loud and heavy to hold. Your arms and ears begin to ache and hurt. What’s worst is that there isn’t even options for you to choose from for your hair. It’s like either super hot blowing or nothing at all. You might end up using a towel to dry your hair and forget about the rest.

What if there is an ultra lightweight, much quieter blow dryer? T3 Featherweight Luxe seems to be up for the challenge with its 70% faster drying time.

The hair dryer retails for $250 and is available at http://www.shopt3micro.com.

The hair dryer comes with 8 speed and heat settings. This dryer also has a cool shot button. The technology behind this blow dryer is tourmaline and ceramic.

Everything is super neatly packed inside. The package includes the featherweight luxe hair dryer, a diffuser, a concentrator nozzle, and a replacement SoftAire filter.

The secret to T3’s dryer is:

“Only the highest quality, imported Tourmaline gemstones, known to impart optimal ionic, infrared heat, are molded through the patented T3 process. Tourmaline is crushed into a fine powder and infused deep into the vital elements of the dryer. Unlike other products that make do with a sprayed coating, T3 achieves deeper, long-lasting results.”

When taking out the T3 blow dryer, you see a lightweight very luxe designed black and gray swirled shiny hair dryer.

The control setting includes a high and low speed with 3 different heat temperatures. There is also a cool shot for cold air. If you do the math, there’re 8 settings in total.

On the back of the handle of the blow dryer are tiny but shiny tourmaline stones dashed in a line. I mistook them to be crystals at first because of how shiny they looked. It’s simply luxurious.

The cords also come wrapped around a velcro band that is soft and smooth to the touch with a T3 logo. At the end of the cord, there’s a soft loop that you can use to hang the dryer as you like. The power adapter also comes with a reset and test switch.

Here is the concentrator nozzle (left) and diffuser (right) sitting side by side. The concentrator nozzle produces a much stronger hair drying whereas the diffuser adds volume to the hair in an even spread blow drying.

The diffuser is well constructed. Here is a detailed up close look at the diffuser. Notice the little air spaces at the end of the “fingers”, they along with the openings at the base are in charge of producing the diffused air.

The box also comes with a replacement filter, a limited warranty form, and a user guide to your blow dryer.

Here is a briefly overview on how the user guide looks. As you can see there is the operation instructions to the left and styling tips for blow drying on the right.

T3 Featherweight Luxe is the type of blow dryer that makes hair drying and styling a breeze. Its super lightweight design is even lighter than a cup of water. The heat blowing is very consistent and the noise is moderate unlike some that seem to cough up a storm. It doesn’t blow out the strongest air, but the air is very beautifully soft and smooth, and it dries hair incredibly fast. The low speed setting is great for styling, there wasn’t too much air coming out so my hair was nicely controlled. The negative ion makes my hair look silky soft, shiny and frizz-free. The package also comes with both a nozzle and a diffuser for very different looks. T3 is probably one of the most efficient and lightest blow dryer I have met. It is also one of the few dryers my daughter approves. She hates loud dryer and strong air. But with T3 Featherweight Luxe, she lets me blow dry her.

I use featureweight for years and still love it. T3 makes the best hair dryers.

I don’t know if I want to spend $250 on a hair dryer, maybe someday. Thanks for the review.

I was thinking of getting a new hair dryer, either T3 or Sedu. After reading your review, I’m going to give T3 a try.

It’s great that it comes with a diffuser already. Alone it costs 20 bucks.

I can just imagine the pile-up of hair gadgets in your bathroom. It seems like you review one hair dryer or flat iron a week XD

How do you think this compares to ones made by GHD or Chi?

You read my mind. Wait for another article soon… 🙂

I heard a good dryer really makes a difference. Is that true? Do you think the price tag is worth it?

    • admin November 10, 2011 at 1:39 AM

It does make a lot of difference. The price tag might be a bit expensive but good stuff comes with a price tag. I use to use a hair dryer which was bought from Target. I thought all hair dryers were the same until I started to use different ones. Then I realized they actually make a difference.

You’re totally right about that. It makes a huge difference. I actually got the T3 feather weight living proof set. My hair is so smooth now.

I’ve heard so many good things about T3. Is it really lighter than a cup of water? You’re such an enabler.

It is pretty light. But maybe not as light as a cup of water, but really light.
