tokidoki Robbery Palette Review and Swatch

Who can resist a box of makeup treasure and cute little mischievous critters? Tokidoki inspired by Japanese fashion, designed in Italy, made in USA. It’s the perfect combination of criminally cute and irresistibly edgy. So let’s hurry up and join these Robbery characters in the tokidoki world.

Availability: Exclusively at Sephora

Price: $39 ($140 value)

The original packaging! It’s full of colorful tokidoki Robbery characters.

The magnet has Bastardino, a cactus costumed ninja doggie, holding a Sephora shopping bag! How cute is that!

The back of the packaging has more Robbery prints and swatch chart of the inside palettes.

Includes 3 palettes, a keepsake tin, and a reusable magnet. It’s a great set to keep or broken up into three thrilling gifts.

Royal Pride, same name as the face bronzer.

Arlecchino – a fun color combination.

and Rapina – the dark edgy side of the set.

The keepsake tin opens up like this, really colorful.

A handy mirror is embedded on top surrounded by Cocommando and Moofia friends..

Some details on the characters.

3 palettes sit side by side, waiting to get out and do something evil.

Haha too bad! Now you’re all in jail. Robbery, nuh uh!

I love how amazing that 3 palettes can be combined into one drawing.

Even the back side too! It’s like the little characters are telling a story.

Finally let’s take a look at the palette itself. Separate palette pictures are taken with flash to show texture.

My thoughts about tokidoki Robbery Palette:

What I like:

– The design and packaging are super adorable and the artwork is genius.
– Great value. It’s on sale for $39 at Sephora (valued at $140).
– The palettes are highly versatile. It has a lot of eye-poping colors that are great for both day and night.
– Most bronzer/blush and eyeshadows are pigmented that won’t fade with several light shades exceptions.
– The formula is creamy and easy to blend.

What could be better:

– The swatch chart on the back of the packaging is incorrect with some colors.
– Blush Momobella on the Arlecchino palette has chunky glitters. It can look too sparkly with heavy application.
– The texture of some shadows are not very smooth, for example Meteo and Liberty.
– There’s are no brushes included and no mirror on individual palette.

Final thoughts:

This is a great set for someone loves fun and cute makeup products. It has a lot of colors to play with, neutral and dramatic, great for everyday wear and party as well. The staying power is also pretty good with very little shadow fallouts. If you want something that’s cute with an edgy twist, I recommend you check this out.

The packaging is uber adorable!!! It’d be nice if ALL of the shadows have a fabulous texture.

RYC, I seldom buy things from Gmarket these days. I’m more into Japanese products atm =D

I love the packaging and think its a steal at $49. Some of the swatches look a little chalk though and not as pigmented as I would have thought. Is that the case?

    • admin February 14, 2011 at 12:01 AM

you’re right. unfortunately some shades are a little chalky and not as pigmented. but overall it’s a nice palette.
