tokidoki Royal Pride Hercolino Cromatico Palette Swatch and Review

There are cactus suited dogs looking mean and hungary with a monkey sleeping on the back of a hippo who is wearing yellow sunglasses relaxing in a pond. Not to mention an angry guitar zapping the oasis trees where the hippo is. But most importantly, who’s that dog with the silver crown over his head with a ring in his mouth?! It’s Hercolino! Tokidoki has came out with yet another cute palette but this time with a bit of jungle / safari theme. It’s Tokidoki Hercolino Cromatico Palette.

Coming in with it’s quirkiness there is a protective hard plastic makeup bag with a semi camouflaged drawing of a bigger Bastardino ready to bite.

Hey look! There are two matching heart and crossbones fobs at the zipper.

The white hip and spunky female tigress has her feet and part of her tail sticking out! Well I wanted you to notice that the case itself is cool. It is pretty well drawn on the ends where the flaps meet so that its a seamless drawing. Furthermore, the flaps have magnetic snaps enclosed for stickiness so that the flaps don’t flap around unexpectedly.

See the open jar guy with the sunglasses in the middle? It’s so cute and the designer is so talented. Remember to store your precious td palette in a dry cool place.

Giraffe super slider! Wheeee!!!

There is a the jungle mistress trying to scale the safari with her safari outfit and camera. Hey it looks like a DSLR!

Hercolino? Hercolino? Where are you?!

There you are! So he went treasure hunting. See what he got!

Nice little crown…

It’s funny how Hercolino can’t stand on his four without the huge diamond touching the ground.

His left eye opened even wider when he saw the diamond.

Well enough of all the cartoon crazies and gags. Here is the real deal, on the left side we have Profumo (top left), Elettrica (right) and Ippo (bottom left) in natural indoor lighting.

The 3 shadows exposed in the sun from side view.

Head on. As you can see the shimmers in Ippo looks quite different in these 2 angles.

Onto the skin, we have these 3 shades swatched. Profumo is a matte dusty pink with medium pigmentation. Elettrica is a sparkling gray green with with a bit of sparkles. Finally, Ippo is a subtle plum smoky color with little specks of shimmers.

Here they are in the sun.

What do we have here? Another 3 shades on the right side! We have Patatino (top right), Lion Pappa (left), and Hercolino (bottom right).

Here they are with the sun. At this angle there isn’t much shimmer seen…

Now laying it flat you can see a bit more shimmers on each palette.

From left to right we have Lion Pappa, Patatino, and Hercolino. Lion Pappa is a light copper bronze color with nice pigmentation. Patatino is a matte cream. Hercolino, our hero, is a pearlized chocolate brown.

Adding the sunlight, see how pigmented each color is. Also, notice how shimmery they are! Lion Pappa looks the best in my opinion.

If you like wacky and fun designs with a kick, Tokidoki gives you the whole 9 yards. But besides the cool artwork, you have fun names that are associated with his characters that Simone has created. The palette’s 6 shades have a whole range of finishes from matte to pearly, sparkly to shimmery. They’re nice combinations for mid-summer / fall. The pigmentation on some of the colors are richer than others but once blended they create a killer combo! Which character do you like best?

I love the tokidoki artwork but the palettes are too bulky for me. It’s more of an art collection if I pick these up but I’d rather own the bags ;P
