Dreyer’s Slow Churned Ice Cream Sundae Gives Us a Reason to Smile All Summer Long

When it comes to summer, the heat is a sure killer. Luckily, there is air conditioning, the beach, and a variety of things to keep us cool. Though my first choice would be hitting the fridge for some yummy ice cream, I am afraid the high calorie and fat will be bad for me. What should I do?

Dreyer’s has a good selection of Slow Churned Light Ice Creams to save both my hot days and my belly. I can eat them as much as I want without caring too much about the calories. I can even make a great ice cream sundae out of these ice creams.

Shopping through the ice cream aisle were buckets of Dreyer’s Slow Churned Ice Creams. One of the greatest things about the Slow Churned is 1/2 the fat and 1/3 less calories than the regular ice cream. It is consciously healthier and still having the great taste of ice cream.

There were so many choices at the store that I almost carried all of them home. But suddenly realized our freezer was pretty much full so I reluctantly put some back to the shelf. Finally I ended up getting triple cookie fudge sundae and strawberry.

I wanted to create the perfect sundae. I had a pack of gummy bears, some sprinkles, chocolate and peanut butter shell, raisins, nuts, and bananas. To prepare for the sundae, I cut up the raisins a bit and smashed the nuts. Afterwards, it was time to scoop and assemble!

Here is the finished product. Two bowls of sundae incorporating all the materials above. As you can see it is colorful and tasty. The ice creams tasted extremely smooth and less sweet. It sure is light but my kids and I loved every bit of it. Those two buckets only lasted 3 days and now we’re going to try more flavors.

Get this: For every ice cream smile captured in a photo and uploaded to Dreyer’s Facebook page, Slow Churned will donate $5 to Operation Smile.  By the end of the summer, the goal is to give away more than 25,000 scoops of ice cream, capture 25,000 ice cream smiles and gift 500 surgeries/smiles to children in-need.

Dreyer’s® Slow Churned  Light Ice Cream is churned slowly for all the rich & creamy taste of regular ice cream, but with half the fat and one-third fewer calories.  Now that’s a reason to smile. Give a smile with Operation Smile: https://www.facebook.com/DreyersIceCream
