Le Métier de Beauté Fall 2011 East Meets West Nail Lacquer Collection Swatch and Review
For Fall and Winter 2011 Le Métier de Beauté has traveled all over the world to show us around “Silk Road”. What we are going to feature today is our first review on the LMdB East Meets West Nail Lacquers, part of the Silk Road Collection. We were very fascinated by these cute tiny bottles, the colors are rich and elegant, almost like colors of antique jewelry. They made us truly impressed indeed.
Each bottle of nail polish comes in a 4 ml @ $10 a bottle. The whole collection is only $40! Sold at numerous places such as Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus.
Each bottle is formulated to be 3-Free without formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), Proposition 65-compliant and fortified with strengthening proteins and hydrators. These 4 bottles of polish are highly pigmented for rich, glossy, and long-wearing color.
So here they are side by side, from left to right we have Silk Road, Anatolia, Dynasty, and Urban Dweller.
Silk Road – a metallic, bronzed copper
Anatolia – a rich plum illuminated with bronzy, golden shimmer
Dynasty – a deep, shimmering fuchsia
Urban Dweller – a rich chocolate plum with golden effervescence
One thing I noticed after opening the bottle of Dynasty is the brush being a short and small. Being used to wide and large nail polish brushes, I was skeptical at first. But the good news is, it’s very easy to use with great precision. The brush hair is well arranged and dense enough to resemble a pen. Using the brush and painting the nails are like work of art almost like a true artistry brush.
We are going to start off with Silk Road. The coverage is great with dual coating. Being a shiny metallic bronze copper, it gives a feeling of old world flavor with a twist of elegance all encapsulated in one.
In direct sunlight, the tiny shimmers are now more visible and pigmentation is very intense.
The rich plum with shimmers makes Anatolia a personal favorite from the collection. It’s bright and rich with maximum glossiness, which makes it a must have for the season. With this amount of shine I wonder how it would look like with direct sunlight?
With direct sunlight, the color turns a bit more red almost like burning with romance. The fine gold and bronze shimmers makes this color very mesmerizing.
We now move on to Dynasty. Unlike Anatolia, Dynasty is a fuchsia color right outside the box. It almost looks like a glaze of high shine with tiny shimmers scattered throughout the nail.
With direct sunlight, the color illuminates and is so bright that it will catch anyone’s eyes.
Our final color is Urban Dweller. The rich chocolate plum color with golden effervescence makes this color very unique. The color is like an ancient artifact with specks of gold making it worth your while to collect. The polish itself has a lot of gloss to it as well.
Out of the shade, the golden effervescences are dancing to the sunlight.
Besides the striking colors and lovely texture, the polishes are very long lasting and well formulated as well. After wearing Dynasty for a week, I only noticed minor wear on the tip of my fingers which is barely noticeable.
Le Métier de Beauté’s East Meets West collection is a must have for this fall. The colors are constructed to give a not so everyday on the street look. Though each bottle only contains 4ml, they should last quite a while. And for the price, it’s well worth every penny. If you haven’t picked up this collection, I suggest you go check out the counters soon, before they’re sold out.

Le Métier de Beauté Fall 2011 Kaleidoscope Eye Kit Silk Road Swatch and Review
This collection is super gorgeous. I love Urban Dweller the most, so great for the fall.
They are ALL gorgeous! I am finally getting to my local Vietnamese nail salon on Sunday for a proper mani/pedi, which I haven’t had since my foot surgery!
Go! The local nail salons are always nice. Getting pampered and stuff.
If there is a LMdB counter near me, which unfortunately not, and they have pulled out from the UK, as I have read, I would surely get Anatolia and Dynasty! They are not only Fall colours, but I think it’s suitable for any season! Lovely shades!
Yep the shades are great. Now that I think about it, the shades indeed are suitable for any season.
I also got this set and really love every color especially Dynasty, it’s the prettiest fuchsia for fall.
Dynasty is really nice especially the high shine and such.
I want these! I should be able to finish these before winter comes!
They are after all mini but cute. I’d say get them at find which one suits you best!

Urban Dweller isn’t bad, it has that antique vibe!
I love Le Metier. Have you tried their kaleidoscope kits? I wonder if you got swatches of the fall collection.
I haven’t tried Kaleidoscope yet. It seems very intriguing especially the drawer / shelf design.
Dynasty lasted a week on you? It’s amazing! How can you keep it on for so long? I’d love to hear your tips.
Nicky I had some tips back then in a post, click here. There are 7 tips on how to get longer lasting polish life.
Not a big fan of the bronzes and love the red shades. i love LMDB nail polishes and the bottles are really cute but I do wish they are have slightly bigger brushes/bottle.
Lulu!!! Thanks for showing your polish collection in the cabinet! Anyways, the miniature size polishes make LMDB look cute! The small brushes make precision drawing easy. It’s like we can do nail art designs. *me draws something on Lulu’s nails*
I love your beautiful swatches and detailed review. I’ve never tried Le Metier products but I was curious about how they perform. Thanks for letting me know these last over a week.
Thanks for the compliments and enjoy the polish if you get it!
Great swatches and review! I’m impressed by the long wearing ability. I can only get my polish on for 3 days max.
I swatched these in store and only got Silk Road but now after seeing your swatches, I so regret not getting them all.
It’s still available go get it while it lasts.
Super gorgeous rich colors for fall. I’m liking dynasty and anatolia. They’re the prettiest red/plum shades I’ve seen.
