NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Alaska and St. Moritz Review

NARS recently came out with a series of 9 new tinted moisturizers that include sun protection of SPF 30 PA +++ as well as hydration for the skin. It also provides a glow for your skin for a healthier look without clogging the pores.

The 9 shades are categorized into 3 color families of light, medium and dark. There are a wide range of medium to dark shades to choose from for dark skin toned ladies. Today, I will be featuring 2 colors. The first one will be Alaska which is the 2nd lightest, and the second is St. Moritz which is the 1st of medium. Each squeeze tube comes with 50 mL worth of product.

These tinted moisturizers are said to have advanced sun protection which helps reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots for a brighter natural glow. Some of the notable ingredients include Kopara (French Polynesia) and mineral rich seawater. These ingredients help smooth and soften the skin.

Each foundation comes with a safety seal sticker. If you notice closely enough on the bottle design there is also a clear transparent strip around the foundation tube uncovering a glimpse of the color enclosed.

Alaska being the 2nd lightest of all has neutral balance of pink and yellow undertones whereas St. Moritz leans towards neutral yellow undertones. It’s also a tad bit darker than Alaska.

While applying a drop of the product from each tube, I noticed that the consistency is rather light, almost like a serum. There is a slight fragrance of Peony, Violet and Rose Water which is quite pleasant. The formula is easy to blend and the coverage is light but buildable.

Here are both shades evenly distributed across the arm. I really like the “bare but better” finish. It looks natural like real skin and feels light weight. After applying, the skin feels soft and supple that lasts for a long time. Color wise, Alaska matches my skin tone better and St. Moritz obviously has a yellow tint and darker. But you get the picture.

NARS’ Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer not only provides deep hydration with anti-aging benefits to the skin, it also comes with SPF 30 sunscreen with PA+++! It is an all in one product with multiple functions. From squeezing the tube to natural radiant finish, it is easy to use but also versatile. It can be used to just even out skin tone when you don’t feel like doing a foundation during weekends and after work. It can also be used in summer time when you prefer a lighter makeup. Last but not least, use it in conjunction with a powder foundation will give you the best of both worlds, hydration and coverage.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer can be found online with 9 colors at, also available exclusively at Nordstrom.

Hmmm, I am torn between the two shades!

I am more of an Alaska. St. Moritz is a tad dark for me.

Hi! I’ve been really curious about this product. Glad you did a review!
May I know your skin tone? I was NC20-25 but I’ve developed a little bit more tan right now, and I’m confused between Alaska and St. Moritz, because in Makeup Alley, someone with NC30 is also using Alaska!
Oh. And have you ever tried Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer?

Never tried Tarte Amazonian Clay. However, I am more of an Alaska than St. Moritz since I have lighter skin tone. In terms of NC, I couldn’t tell you since I don’t use MAC.
